KOKUYO was established in 1905 under the name KURODA HYOSHI-TEN as a manufacturer of Japanese-style bookkeeping ledgers, and ever since that time we have remained committed to a philosophy of serving society as a provider of superior products and services. The 20th century saw us expand the scope of our business from stationery goods to include furniture products in an evolutionary process where tireless reengineering of our corporate DNA brought us to our present position as Japan’s leading supplier of office products. Now, as we venture into the 21st century, the focus has shifted from the quantitative fulfillment that typified the 20th century to that of qualitative fulfillment and the nature of customer needs is becoming ever more diverse. To actively respond to these changing needs, KOKUYO is changing once again — through the development of universal-design products engineered for ease-of-use by all; through the launch of KAUNET, our office supply catalog-sales business on the Web; and even through our advocacy of the “competitive workplace” concept which takes office strategies for success as an integral component of tactical and strategic planning in corporate management. In this era characterized by dramatic change, the KOKUYO group is moving ahead as it strives to maximize performance by focusing efforts for customer-centric operations in every aspect of our business, whether it be in development, distribution, services, new business, and manufacturing.
